Language Exchange Evenings

The language exchanges are over for the 2009-10 academic year

BUT they will resume in the autumn (2010)
Watch this space!

What are Language Exchanges?

They are an opportunity for anyone aged over 18 to use a language you are learning, share a language that you speak with others and meet people with different cultures and languages. When you arrive at a language exchange evening you will be asked about which language(s) you already speak and which you are learning. You will wear a label showing your name and your languages (spoken and learning). Then you will be guided to a table marked with the name of the language you want. On the table you will normally find a volunteer or volunteers who will facilitate the discussion. You can change table when you want. Refreshments are available

The Language Exchange events are organised by student volunteers (many of them international students). It is co-ordinated by Hallam Volunteering at Sheffield Hallam University Union of Students, Paternoster Row (opposite the Showroom cinema)  with Languages Sheffield. Exchanges take place normally on a middle Tuesday of the month from November to April (excluding January) from 6 to 8pm.
